Extra Credit

For two (2) extra credit points:

1. Identify the diagnostic imaging modality utilized to obtain this image.

2. Identify the anatomic structures demonstrated in this image.

1) Ultrasound

2) I have no background in ultrasound- typically, I think the images I see look like a low pressure mass somewhere over the Caribbean- but this time, I'm gonna' say that we're looking at a mid-term fetus.

I guess I didn't say anything about anatomic structures- I'll say that the head is kind of pointing towards 4 o'clock, and the body is directed upwards towards 10 o'clock, and I think that Hurricane Ike is moving across the bottom at 32 mph.

Good job.

For a third point: What is the significance of my posting this ultrasound image of a mid-term fetus on my blog?

I'm gonna' second johnking on this one. And so you don't think that I'm completely dense, I suspected as much but was just worried about being presumptuous. Anyway, if johnking nailed the third bonus point, then many, many, many congrats, my friend.

John nailed the third bonus point.

I can tell I am getting old because my friends are congratulating me on the pregnancy instead of shaking their heads and saying, "Duuude".

We're pretty excited and due in March.

Thanks!

AARONNNNNNNNN!!!! How adorable! I love this picture of your baby! Congratulations!!! Question though, is your baby sticking her/his tongue out at us? If so, this is definitely YOUR baby! :):):)

Oh and March 8th is a good date~ it is my daughter Kortney's birthday! :)

Thanks Emily. The baby had its hand in front of its face and was very wiggly during the ultrasound. I think I saw a pair of black socks on its feet. . .

He/She is due on March 18th but it is quite possible that it could come as early as March 8th seeing as this will be our second.

OMG~ LMAO!!! Not the black socks!!!

Ahhh yes~ I see the hand now... HOW ADORABLE!!! I am sure with your "xray" eyes everything looks very clear to you. A great advantage for you! Baby looks beautiful/handsome.

Ooooooo myyyyyy~ not the black socks!!! Ugh~

BTW~ my actual due date with Kortney was March 17th. (She's our 3rd and last) So YES~ March 8th is still looking good!

Wooh, I thought that maybe you were pregnate? That could have put a damper on your running.

Congrats!

Grad school and my new job have put a bigger damper on my training than Kim being pregnant.

Thanks for the congrats!

Congrats! The 2008 -2009 baby boom is getting crazy.

Thanks Natalie. We're pretty excited but are trying to figure out when we're going to make our move to the Decatur area. Do we go now or wait until next year after the baby is born?

There isn't really a good time.

Natalie said...

I say try and move pre-baby if possible....assuming you know some people in Decatur who can take Nathan care-duty when your wife goes into labor. You know you're going to be too exhausted to move with a newborn.

We would like to move pre-baby but after meeting with our realtor we won't make much money on our house if we try to sell now. We're kicking around the idea of selling it ourselves but neither of us really wants to take that on.

We'll probably end up waiting until next summer when the baby is not so brand new.
